In the scene where the team is doing the trial run and it goes in slow-motion, watch carefully. In a couple of cuts, the rusty unpainted sled magically changes into its painted counterpart.

The painted sled is a totally different sled than the unpainted one. It's sleeker and has different handles.
I clearly remember this part, when they do the trial run, they remember the first time they actually bob-sleded (at the beginning of the movie their first bobsled was rusty) so it was actually a flashback that took place.
Actually... by the trial run, though they had uniforms, they hadn't painted their sled yet. So this is real. Watch it again... my brother watches it all the time, I know :P
