Come rain or shine, dirt, dust, landslides, gun shots, runaway lorries and even lava flows, KITT goes in clean and shiny & comes out clean & shiny. And sometimes he isn't polished very well - you can see huge messy swirls all over him in some lighting conditions
Ok If you paid attention to the show's premise you would know KITT is not a normal car.
He is specially treated with a chemical to keep of dirt and grime and bullets. HAHAHA
Anyway it is intentional
