On the episode "Doug Bags a Neematoad", watch when Doug is introduced to Skeeter's friends. Doug says "We never used to eat beets in my old house" or something like that. Later on, when Doug is leaving the house to meet Roger at Stinson's pond, look at the bags he's holding. He said his family never ate beets, but there are 2 HUGE beet bags that him and Porckchop are holding. I'm sure his family didn't eat that many beets in one night!
