When Heather and Mike first find the bundle of sticks outside their tent, they throw it behind the log. Right after that, Heather is frightened to the point of crying. She goes and cries in Mike's arms. But if she is crying in Mike's arms and Josh is off being tortured by the witch, then who exactly would be filming at the time?
Sometimes they mix the film footage with other film footage. Like when they are crossing the stream and Heather is aking how do we get the DAT across she is talking but her mouth isn't moving. Now I shall mock you.
"DUH! UH maybe the witch is filming DRRRR!" yeah right.
Don't you think that maybe they could have propped the camera up on something? It's not that hard to just place it down on a rock or something ya know!
Who says it was the witch torturing him? could have been anyone. Those two fishermen looked a bit dodgy to me...Anyway, it could have been anyones tooth and ear, josh probably got fed up of that stupid heather woman...
You know, you have a very good point horror freak? Of corse a witch from hundreds of years ago would say "Hey look! A video camera! If I hold it like this, press this button, point this end towards my eye and this end towards them, I'll help them with their documentry on me!" Good stuff.
Freaking out, freaking out! "Whoops! I gotta set up the camera for a nice shot." Freaking out, freaking out!

Now I could be wrong, but I thought it was only the girl that finds the bundle of sticks thing and that the guy didn't know about it. Hell...the guy was sleeping (I think). If you guys remember, she was washing her hands off in the creek thing, perhaps not to let the guy know what was going on. Maybe so...Maybe not.
What's interesting is that she filmed a good bit of her horror, even while she washed her hands she filmed, she even took the time to rest the camera down and face it to Mike.
Almost as if she has a sense of safety when being filmed.
Remember earlier when Josh said "I see why you like this camera so much, it makes it seem like everything is not quite as it seems." Well, he's probably right so Heather films everything because it makes it seem unreal to her. (The character of Heather I mean, not the actress.)
