Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Closed Captioning Mistake
In the part of this movie where Ferris, Cameron, and Sloane are at the baseball game, but on closed captioning. When Cameron is saying "Su-wing, Batter! He can't hit he can't hit he can't hit..." really fast, on closed captioning, it says "Kennedy Kennedy Kennedy..."
It's actually pretty funny!

I always thought that he was saying that...I wondered why it didn't make any sense

I too thought that he was saying Kennedy. But the closed captioning isn't really a big mistake. I think in EVERY movie there will be a mistake because the actors add lib and that isn't part of the original script.

Yes, they do that with many movies. They don't always print the exact words that the actors say, since, as somebody said, they may have been ad-libbing, or, in other cases, perhaps they shortened the line on the closed-captioning so that you could following along with the movie.

I always thought he said Kennedy, because he was trying to mimic JFK's voice.

A lot of times, the TV is programmed to "hear" what's being said and doesn't always understand what was said. I don't think it's a case of ad-libbing here. Just a dumb TV ;-)

Yes, I too always thought he was saying Kennedy Kennedy Kennedy and I'm thinking, "What the hell?!" But thanks for that, now I understand.

For one thing, closed captioning mistakes aren't slipups. And another thing, he was saying "Kennedy" not "Can't Hit" If you listen, you can hear him say Kennedy, so this isn't a slipup.

Why would he be saying Kennedy? There is NO logical reason at all!

As someone already pointed out, why in the world would anyone be yelling "Kennedy!"??? It's "He can't hit!' I've loved this movie since it came out and my friends and I used to quote this all the time. It wasn't until I got the DVD last year that I saw the "Kennedy!" thing. The fact that there are so many people who thought he was yelling that makes it understandable that whoever did the captioning might have thought it too. Don't make me call Alan Ruck, kids. ;o)

Cameron was saying "He can't hit! He can't hit" during the scene at the Cubs game. The only player in MLB during that time was Terry Kennedy of the Padres....& they weren't playing them that day, so why say "Kennedy, Kennedy?"
