Although people may not catch this, the Super Bowl at the end is in Miami. Super Bowls never play at the home stadium of one of the teams. This is very subtle but very major.
The Super Bowl locations are chosen a year or two ahead of time; if I'm not mistaken, if Tampa had won the NFC title then they would've been in the Super Bowl, in Tampa, which happens to be their home field.

Justin, what is wrong with you? It is very easy to have the Super Bowl at a home field, it would be coincidence, but it is very possible. For instance, the Super Bowl was in Tampa this year, if Tampa had won instead of the Giants, they would have a home game. See? Very Simple!!

Very obviously, it is possible for an NFL team to play at home in the Super Bowl.Miami, Minnesota,Atlanta,Detroit,Tampa,San Diego and New Orleans are all cities with NFL teams that have hosted the Super Bowl. The game is played in warm weather cities or cities with domed stadiums. The host cities are picked years in advance of the game. Some day, a team will play at home in the Super Bowl.

I happen to disagree that this is a slip up. First of all no team has played at home during a Super Bowl. While it is possible it hasn't happened yet. Also the Dolphins never made the Super Bowl anytime close to when the movie was made and this is just to fit the movie. This isn't a big part of the movie.
