Where shall I begin? First, let me say that your theory is flawed. Let's start with the name. Firstly, Scream IS a trilogy, as well as Stab. Now, there is no Stab 2 in Scream 2 because this was the time when Stab 1 was released. They say in Scream 3 that Stab 3 is a follow up to Stab 2 which was based on the Windsor College murders. Now, as stated at the Internet Movie Database, www.imdb.com , Scream 2 was released in 1997, while Scream 3 was released in 2000. So, this leaves about 2 and a half years between Stab and Stab 3. This was well enough time to make a Stab 2. There. I think I have covered everything!

Actually Cartman is right. In Scream 3, In the house at the end of the movie you can clearly see the movie posters for Stab and Stab 2 hung on a wall going up a set of stairs.

Cartman is right. There is even a scene in the beginning of Scream 3 when all the actors are sitting around the house set. One of them says the the killer is probably mad that they killed Randy in Stab 2. Therefore, Stab 2 had already been made and released. Try to pay more attention.

Hey! Ok, Stab 1 was based on the events of the original Scream, Stab 2 was based on the events of Scream 2 (the Windsor College murders), and it seems that Scream 3 is a work of fiction (Sort of an attempt to capitalize on the STAB series).

Yeah I noticed this too. This is how I see it in Scream 2 Stab 1 was being made so then in Scream 3 wouldn't you think that Stab 2 was being made. Then another thing I don't get is Stab 3 is supposed to be "Return to Woodsborro" right? well then why are the characters (Gale is the one I spotted this with) still wearing the same exact thing as in Scream 1 shouldn't they have been wearing the same thing in Stab 1 and not Stab 3. I mean come on you really expect them to be wearing the same exact thing years later??

If you look in the beginning of Scream 3 when Cotton gets his call on the cell phone, there is a point when he is behind a bus. The back of the bus advertises STAB 2. You need to be more careful about your slip-up.

Just Because Scream and Scream 3 are only 2 or 3 years apart, doesn't mean they aren't set years apart, thought none of them seem to age throughout the trilogy

I must agree with everyone - this is not a slip-up. Along with the bus and the vocal reference to Stab two, there were also several shots of movie posters from the Stab trilogy, some of those posters being from Stab two.
