1. Watch the Series 3 episode "Spontaneous Combustion".
2. Later on in the episode, the residents of South Park are causing global warming by passing gas.
3. Everyone thinks the temperature is incredibly high and all the adults are wearing T-shirts. But the children never take off their woolly hats and scarves, and there is still snow everywhere!
WELL THAT'S JUST SOUTH PARK ISN'T IT??? people aren't flat in real life. do we complain?

Maybe there's a ground level wind chill factor. Heat travels up you know.

It's not that. It was stated in the episode that it was 'the greenhouse effect', a form of global warming.

The kids ALWAYS wear their coats and hats. Even when July came around and all the snow melted they still wore them.

You, obviously, have never ever been to South Park, Colorado. It is not actually a real town, (although there is a replica of Old Time South Park City in Fairplay), it is actually a county. And it's a pretty boring one at that. But the point is that in Colorado, especially out on the plains, it's pretty damn cold.

I am so tickled that the special requirement to view this slipup is "a thermometer." Where exactly should I put that in my TV? And how, once I've gotten it into the TV's correct orafice, do I get this magic mercury-filled device to rate the temperature of one specific set of one television show based in a fictional town that is a cartoon??? Man, where do I get one of these thermometers!?!

South Park is all about being stupid, nothing's ever real or serious. That's just their humor!

The kids also leave their hats, mitts and jackets on in the Rainforest episode, when they go to Costa Rica. Why the hell would anyone need winter gear in Costa Rica? They just never change clothes, it's sort of a subtle running joke of the show, I think.
