When Chuck Noland ( Tom Hanks ) is on the island, during the early days / weeks he is shown close up in many shots. While I loved this movie and rate Tom Hanks as one of my all time favorite actors, there did seem to be slight problems with the visual representation of his physical health at one point.

If you look you will see in one sequence where a skin rash below his ear comes and goes.
