This one is easily explained, they simply reversed the film, this is done alot, and when there are objects on one side, and not the other, this becomes extremely obvious, I do not know if this really classifies as a slip-up, or not.

I'm curious, just WHY did they reverse the film? I keep hearing this, but am curious as to what purpose did it serve.

The main reason for flipping film is generally if the director has crossed the line of action accidentally (loosely, the line of action is an imaginary line between two characters in dialogue)
But in a battle scene, there is no line, because the action is everywhere, and in these close up shots, what possible reason could they have had for flipping the film? Maybe the editor just loaded it backwards and couldn't be bothered fixing his error.
