In the Hanukkah special, when Angelica teaches the babies her meaning of Hanukkah, there is a menorah on top of a TV set. According to the laws of Hanukkah, in order to publicize the miracle of the oil, you are to put a menorah near a window.
Who honestly cares? You can put a menorah wherever the heck you want. Tradition says you are supposed to put it by a window. NOBODY CARES! It doesn't matter.
The Jews care, that's who cares! But, you need to remember, they have babies, and they can reach the window, you wouldn't want then to get burnt, would you? Not to mention, they have long drapes, so it might catch on fire. The babies can't reach the top of the TV though. Also, they might not have had a place to put a menorah, like my family, we have to window that we can put our menorah by, without drapes burning up, I mean.
Well, my best friend is Jewish, and every Chanukkah, I go to her house to light the candles with her family. they have many, many menorahs, but only one of them is near a window (it just happens to be electric and really cool =Þ) the rest of them are on the kitchen counter, and I guess if you were in their backyard you could see the light from them in the window, but they aren't right next to a window or anything like that.
I am Jewish, and I know that Hanukkah is not even a major holiday because it is not in the Torah. It has just become a major holiday because it is near Christmas. Ironically, Hanukkah is about Jews not following what everyone else did, and yet it has adapted to follow many Christmas traditions such as giving gifts. Putting the hanukkia (often called the menorah though not the same thing) by a window is not really neccessary. Also, it was probably just placed there to keep it away from the babies.
