During the fight between Apollo and Ivan, watch Ivan's mouth. While he is being punch his jaw is hanging wide open. Ivan takes many punches to the jaw if this happened in real life his jaw would shatter. That is why you never see a boxer with his jaw open.
Seriously, nobody would be able to take the punches that were given out in that fight. If you really think about it, no referee in the history of boxing should have let the fight continue after the beating Rocky was getting!!!
Ivan was a strong Russian. That just showed that the hits Apollo was giving were nothing to the Russian! Remember Ivan in the movie was an amatuer boxer that had no experience what so ever! And he did pretty damn good don't you think!?
