In the movie "Casablanca" check the scene in which Humphrey Bogart waits for Ingrid Bergman in a Paris railway station. It is pouring rain and Bogart's hat and trench coat are soaked and dripping. When he receives a note saying Ingrid isn't coming, he reluctantly gets on the train. In the shot of him standing in the train's doorway he's dry.
Looks like there's at least one acting tradition they haven't done away with. If an actor gets wet, dry them off as soon as possible. Look at Star Wars when they all fell in the garbage shoot.
