Fast forward to the part on Endor, when Han, Princess Leia, Luke, and the rest of them get caught in the ewok trap/net. then when it comes to the point where r2-d2 is about to cut the rope look closely at the spinning blade and what was supposed to be sparks is actually a flashing light.

(and anyway ropes don't spark!)
