Go to the scene where Cody falls in McLeach's pit-trap. Fast-forward to where the poacher offers his gun to Cody to help pull the boy out of the pit.

As he lifts Cody, we get a full profile on McLeach. Notice the feather in his cap. In the next scene it's gone...

Now when he aims his gun at Joanna in a fit of anger for her attacking the backpack with the mouse in it, the feather is BACK in his cap! Then it's gone again.

Then he takes Cody's feather, puts it in his cap, and pulls the duplicate feather out of his vest!

Apparently, the McLeach model sheets showed him with the feather in his hat-band, and some of the animation team neglected to remove it when animating the few scenes before the feather got there.
