In the first Episode with Blaine, JigglyPuff is about to sing to the people in Gary's hotel. Ash, Misty, and Brock run but leave Togepi behind. Pikachu runs back-and yells what is clearly "TOGEPI!" not Pika-Pi.
I don't mean to be picky, but in Pikachu language, "Togepi" is actually "Pi-pi-pi" not "Pika-pi" as you typed. I'll have to check that slip-up though.

I haven't double checked this slip-up, but from what I understand Pikachu says Togepi in a hilarious way. Pikachu says "Pipipi!" and I always get a good laugh every time Pikachu says that. When Togepi was lost in that episode where a Fearow flies away with Togepi in its mouth, and Misty and Ash and Brock were calling its name, Pikachu went "Pipipi!". In that episode with the ghost ship, when Togepi was lost Pikachu yelled "Pipipi!". I think you misheard Togepi for "Pipipi". :]

I highly doubt it, because Pikachu called Togepi "Pipipi" several times. Because there is this back and forth thing going on, where you say one thing and at least two of us says the other, the only way to verify this is to somehow record Pikachu saying Pipipi/Topipi and slow it down with a wav/mp3 modifying device. I still think it's Pipipi because he said it twice before.

It was Topipi when the voices combined, but in reality it was pipipi. The reason is because Pikachu's called Togepi that several times before, and then several times after, that episode. So the original message, the slipup, isn't really a slip up at all, only something that has been misheard.
