Coop and Remer (Matt and Trey) didn't go to get the money because although they had no money of their own, they didn't want the other guys to know that. They didn't want to look desperate for the money.

Uhh, dude, I think you missed the point. It's not so much that they didn't have money of their own, it's rather they didn't get the money that they had earned.
