Boston Public - Is Boston Public Actually in Boston?
We are given the impression that Boston Public is in Boston. They had a short scene showing a Long Island RR (MTA) commuter train (3rd rail power pick up.) Boston subways use 3rd rail, but MBTA railroad uses diesel or overhead wire.
Of course not. I live in a suburb of Boston and go to the city pretty much every weekend. There is no room to film in Boston and there are no tv studios in sight with the exception of local news stations. We have the T for buses and trains. Next time you are visiting here you should check it out and see for your self.
Of course it's not in Boston! I've lived in the Boston metro area my whole life, and like someone else said, there's no room for any major TV show to be filmed here. Besides, about the accent, just because you live in Boston doesn't mean you need one of those New England/Boston accents when you don't pronounce your Rs.
