Home Alone 2 - Kevin's Age

In this movie you hear Kevin saying he is ten years old. And it is also the same time that Kevin was left at home last year because you hear Kevin's mum mentioning stuff about last year when Kevin was accidentally left at home. Last year Kevin was eight years old. How could Kevin have managed to age two years in a one year period?

Even though the movies were made two years apart, in the movie they keep referring to what happened to Kevin "last year." There's no possible way he could be 8 last year and 10 this year. Kevin is clearly trying to come off as being older than he actually is, what 9 year old (or 10 year old for that matter) is going to waltz into the PLAZA HOTEL and get a room, yeah, he does come up with a good story to get a room, but i think in his mind, it was more believable that a parent would leave a 10 year old by himself than a 9 year old.; 15 of 6577 found this helpful.
