CSI - Do Gloves Scratch?
On CSI's October 13 episode, investigator Willows takes samples from under the dead rookie's nails. (Supposedly the rookie scratched her attacker on the cheek.) In a flashback to the attack, the rookie was wearing rubber gloves while she dusted a crime scene for prints. How does she get skin under her nails if she's wearing gloves?

It's quite possible. In a struggle, your fingernail can easily pierce latex rubber gloves (I know, I've destroyed enough of 'em waxing the car ).

I re-watched this episode and noticed that they showed her struggling with the perpetrator and her glove on that hand was torn off, which is why is was off when they got to the scene and also why she was able to scratch him. Sorry.
