There is a scene where Thornhill observes that Kaplan must be shorter than he, as Kaplan's suit doesn't fit him at all. A few scenes later, Thornhill escapes the train with Eve by stealing a "red cap's" (porter's) uniform. We meet the accosted red cap a few minutes later and he's a little old man, far tinier than Thornhill. Yet the old man's uniform appears to fit Thornhill quite nicely. An odd slip-up since they'd made such a to-do about clothing sizes in the earlier scene.
