As ace makes his perfect stop at the police station, if you you have good eyes or a pause button, you can see previous attempts at this stunt by the skid marks all over the place.
How do you know they are from previous attempts? Maybe that's his parking spot and he does that sort of park all the time!

Does it really matter? You don't need to get all nitpicky, Scolman. I personally do think it is a slipup. Don't get all technical.

It IS his space! That's how Ace parks no matter what! Check out every other time he parks in both movies!!! That's where Ace works so it make sense for there to be a bunch of marks!

LIND, he doesn't work at the police station. if you hadn't noticed, he needs money in the begining of the movie. so why would he need that money if he had a job there + the police chief always wants to know what hes doing there.

Ace doesn't work at the police station. This isn't exactly a slip up either. The budget for this movie didn't permit them to graphically extract the street marks as that was a bit more of an expensive thing to do back in those days (and remember this is the movie that made him a big star. He wasn't quite there yet) After a few takes the skid marks add up and the director had to take the best take with or without the skidmarks.

He doesnt have to work there to park there. Remember hes friends with that black guy so he could go and see him often. He also knew quite a few of the cops there so its obvious hes been there before. Probably to get clues or whatever on an animal or something.
