If you look at the name plate on the office for Dr. Huxtable in the first episode (EVER!) of the Cosby Show, you will notice that it says verbatim--Dr. Clifford Huxtable! If you are as die-hard of a Cosby Show fan as I am, you will know that Dr. Huxtable's first name is actually Heathcliff, and not Clifford!
in response to dairy queen-
After THE COSBY SHOW as Heathcliff Huxtable, Bill Cosby started another show, COSBY. It had a completely different storyline. In COSBY Bill played a retired airline pilot named Clifford. Those two shows are easily confused since they both have similiar titles and the main characters are played by the same actors and one of the main characters is similiarly named to the main character of the other show - THE COSBY SHOW: Heathcliff
COSBY: Clifford.
I have seen the name plate on "The Cosby Show" and it did say "Clifford." I don't remember him ever playing anyone named Clifford. On "Cosby" his name was Hilton.
Well, if you really are a Cosby Show fan you would know that they always either call him "Heathcliff", "Cliff", or, yes, sometimes even "Clifford"!!!!!
