I watch Golden Girls everytime that it comes on!!! I also relised this. Her husband, Charlie's last name was Nylund. She was a Lindstrum before she was married. She even says, "We had a cat named Linstrum." Blanche says,"I thought that Linstrum was your last name." Rose,"It was, we just thought that it would have been easier to remember." Also, Rose says she never knew her father and that she was dropped off on a door step. She finds her father who is a munk.. It's very confusing.

Later in that episode she tells them that Bob Hope was actually her fantasy father!!! Watch the whole episode before you let yourself get confused about the whole monk thing.

I own every episode of the Golden Girls, there are mistakes, but the story goes that Rose was left on a door step, the Lindstrums adopt her, at some point she fantasizes (sp) who her real parents are and Bob Hope it who she imagines her father to be. She then marries Charlie Nylund. While she is volunteering at the hospital, a monk starts a convo with her, and it comes out that he was her father. Have you guys seen all the episodes?

Well she didn't know her father, it was said in the "Monk" episode how he had to drop her off at the doorstep because of the shame it would bring. Anyway, I can see Blanche saying "Linstrum" was your last name, because she could just mean, at one point it was your last name not first name. I hope I worded that right, not sure of a better way to say it to make it more clear.
