The beginning, in the scene where they are in the ship sailling through the storm, the flag is torn(the one that is hanging from the top of the ship), later on in the moive the flag looks brand-spanking-new !!!
Good eye! But not a slip-up. Throughout naval history it has been customary to carry multiple banners aboard. They have whole procedures for running up fresh ones and properly respecting the retiring ones.
