Watch in Phases, in the scene just before Willow enters the library, where Giles is readying the gun. What is it with his glasses!? Giles' glasses switch from being on and off throughout the scene!
Also when Willow falls in the forest (when being chased by Oz) as she runs away there is a large mud stain on her overalls. By the time she gets to the library, it is gone.
I didn't notice this, but I may have an explanation. Depending on how far the woods are from the library, the mud could have dried, and Willow, being the girl that she is and wanting to look clean, could have picked off the dry mud. It's possible, I've done it to my shoes thousands of times!
Yep, as Rioni said, Giles appears to clean his glasses compulsively. But he actually has a reason - in "All The Way," Xander and Anya start kissing passionately, and Giles cleans his glasses -
BUFFY: (shocked) Is that why you're always cleaning your glasses? So you don't have to see what we're doing?
GILES: Tell no one. (puts glasses on)
Since there's nothing going on here that Giles doesn't want to see (I mean, he's reading...you'd think he'd WANT to see!), this is a slipup! Good catch!
