Lost World, The (Jurassic Park) - You Look Old for Your Age
In the Jurassic Park Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) says to Dr. Grant (Sam Neill) he has no kids. But in The Lost World he has a daughter who is about 13. If he had a kid since the first Jurassic park she would only be about 4. Right? And you know that this isn't 13 years later because, you see Timmy and Lex and, they're only 4 years older then they were in the original Jurassic Park.
In the first Jurassic Park movie Ian tells Grant that he has three kids. "I love kids," he says afterwards. "After all, anything can and does happen." Grant also asks Ian if he is married and Ian replies "Occasionaly."
Thanks for clearing this up for me. It's just that, the character of Ian Malcolm was sarcastic at points in the movie and I thought he was being sarcastic about having three kids. Thanks :)
Ok ok first off, his girlfriends' name is Sarah, not Laura and second off, she is not the mother of the black girl. Hammond says early in the film that Malcolm and Sarah did not even meet until after the events of Jurassic Park. Obviously Malcolm had been married to a black girl 13 years earlier. Use common sense.
I don't know, it's kinda hard to say whether his girl was adopted or not. To me, she is obviously purely black. If she was Ian's daughter by blood then she would be a bit lighter in color, a half-breed. <-- Sorry, to anyone who is black, for my terminology -->
You guys must have really missed where he was arguing with her, and made a comment about that he was "not the one who dropped her off and split for Paris", the meaning?, she was adopted, that was incredibly obvious,

Actually, they are having argument and he says 'Hey, I'm not the one who dumped you and split for Paris'. This does NOT mean she was adopted, only that the mother ran off to Paris and left their kid behind.
She wouldn't have to be adopted. either malcom or Sarah would just have to have a black parent. it would be a "hidden" trait in either of them, but "Pop- up" in their kid.... GENETICS!
