When Henry picks up Karen for their second date, Henry was dressed up casualy and was Karen (she had some kind of pink dress with flowers or something). In the next scene when they got out of the car, Henry had a dark suit and a tie and Karen was dressed in a black dress
I find it hard to believe that this is a slip up. Scorsese is known for his shots spanning time...I believe that these are actually 2 separate dates and shows the passage of time and the growth of the relationship between the two. Being a stickler for detail...I feel that this is too big if a continuity error. (But if you do want to see a major scorsese continuity error, watch raging bull...the scene where Pesci is punching De Niro at the breakfast table. His ring severely bloodies De Niro (la motta) and a split second later, his face doesn't have a mark on it.)
YOU ARE WRONG!!! YOU! What happens is this- On the second date Henry (Ray Liotta) doesn't show up. She goes down to where he is and she starts saying "It was Friday! It was this Friday and you agreed so you're a liar!" Then Henry says "Look, I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you sometime". You are WRONG. Shall we gather by the river...
Actually, I think they did start going on the date like that, but then somehow changed before they got there. Because Karen's mother would not have approved of her daughter going out dressed in a skimpy black dress and going out with someone who looked like a gangsta.
