The pool scene, where Joan and Christina have their first face-off of the film, contains several mistakes. First, Joan and Gregg are having a conversation while Joan is lying on a chaise lounge. Gregg is sitting next to her and the camera cuts between their faces and a long shot. When we see Joan's face, she's facing Gregg and reclining. When they show the whole scene, she's facing away from him and leaning forward. Then, as Gregg leaves, he says goodbye to Tina and Joan playfully challenges her to a pool race. Suddenly Joan is in the pool with her, bathing cap securely in place, and Gregg is somehow still walking up the stairs to leave. Did he stop to do some yard work on the way? Finally, what about Carol-Ann, Joan's longsuffering helper/companion (who didn't really exist in real life anyway)? To the casual viewer, she just appears to drop right out of the sky to referee the pool race. BUT--look closely. While Joan and Gregg are having their earlier discussion, Carol-Ann can be glimpsed over Gregg's shoulder when he says "Who calls, I run?"
