When Buffy and Xander sit down on the bench as Xander tries to get Buffy to go to the dance with him, watch the strap on his shoulder bag, it keeps switching sides in just about every other shot
There's a very similar slip up in Welcome to the Hellmouth. Buffy sits on the bench with Willow to ask for help with school work and this time Buffy's shoulder strap moves in every other shot.
Film gets reversed in post production sometimes for various reasons. It wasn't like the actors or director happened to not remember or not notice... Its poor post-production to be sure, but not the actor's or crew's fault.
