Scream 3 - Pulse Problems
When Gail was checking the basement, and saw Roman "dead" in the coffin, she checked his pulse! He was obviously faking his death, but how do you fake not having a heartbeat?

That is because it was a dummy, when the real gail falls down the stairs she slams against the giloutine and a dummy head falls down it is his. That's how I knew it was him

No, the dummy was in the guillotine when Gail fell down the stairs, it was just one of the movie props down there. I'm talking about the COFFIN. in the coffin, there is an actual body, and, low and behold, it is Roman. Anyway, it couldn't have been the dummy that was in the guillotine because Roman's face was covered in blood, and the dummy's face wasn't. Look closely.

if i was being chased by ghostface, i probably wouldn't check a person's (who looks dead) pulse that carefully either. or roman could just have had a really weak pulse.

Derek Estrada writes:
There is a way to stop your pulse, if you put a small ball in your arm pit and squeeze the ball real hard, you'll lose your pulse for a while. I learned this when I watched sme show about this guy who coned alot of poeple and one thing he did was lose his pulse and become a different person. And he did what I explain above. Thanks -Derek Estrada

to derek, there is a difference between fiction and non-fiction, and that movie sounds very fictional. just cause they did it in some movie doesnt mean that it can really happen

Don't they explain on the DVD that he had a tight strap on his arm?

I think what Derek was talking about was not a fictional program, but something that actually happened. Before i read his post, i was about to post the same thing. I had many discussions about this back in film school. There really is a way to stop your pulse and it has been done in real life. In fact, i may be wrong since i haven't watched the DVD with commentary in a while, but Wes explains this I believe. In any event, Derek is correct. It can actually happen and it's very likely that's what Roman did.

If he was in Hollywood, not to mention a director, he probably had access to wax figures, which are all over the basement. Perhaps he had one of himself made and planted it in the coffin before the killing started that night.

That had to be the real Roman, because I think Gail can tell the difference between flesh and wax when she touched his wrist to check the pulse.

She is a reporter, not a doctor...and she only checked it for a second...it takes me a while to even find mine when I'm trying.

The way to stop your pulse being detected in your arm is to apply pressure to the armpit area quite hard. If you listen to the audio commentary on the disk, you will find this out!
