Con Air - Where Did the Helmet Come From?

Near the end, after the fire truck hit the armor vehicle and all bad guys got killed, there is a close-up shot of a military helmet on the ground. Neither the good guys or the bad guys had wore helmets. Where did the helmet come from?

Swamp Thing puts on the helmet in the airplane just before crash landing on the strip. When he's driving the fire truck, he has it on, and when the fire truck crashes, it FLEW OFF HIS HEAD!!!
