In an episode in the 97-98 (I think) season, Monica goes to pick up Emily's wedding dress and ends up trying it on. The dress Monica wears is completely different from the one Emily wears on the season finale. If something happened in an episode that made Emily not be able to wear the dress Monica did, I didn't remember it.
It was a totally different dress. Emily's had lace on the top of the dress, and it had a shiny thing just under breasts. The dress Monica tried on was a totally different style and didn't have any lace or anything shiny.
It is the same dress, but Emily puts the shrug-style jacket over the top. It Looks different because Helen Baxendale has a bigger bust than Courteney Cox but you can tell it's the same because of the beaded detail under the bust.
It is a different dress. Why do TV people do that anyway? I don't think the costume people pay attention from episode to episode. Monica wears a different dress on her wedding that is different from the one she bought before. The one she bought had a poofy skirt, and the one she wore didn't.
Monica couldn't wear the dress she bought if you remember because another lady had booked the band Chandler wanted and wouldn't let Monica have them if she didn't give her the dress back!!!
Jenny---u r thinking of a diff episode...monica and chandler arent 2gether yet for ross and emilys wedding..they get together after the reception...the episode they are talking about was one where monica was deligated to pick up emily's dress, and then decides to cheer herself up by trying it on...(rachel and pheobe end up doing the same at the end...) and the dress that monica tries on to cheer herself up, is not the dress emily is actually wearing at the wedding (right before ross says the wrong name, ha)
However...in the episode you are talking about, the dress that monica gets at the "dress sale" is not the same one she is trying on "one last time" before she gives it up to the evil bride that is bribing her...the one at the sale is a lot smaller...the one monica shows to chandler at the end of that episode (bc she is giving it to the evil bride blackmailing her out of chandlers favorite band unless she does) is a huge A-line halter style dress, definitely not a sheath dress *i know this bc the one she tries on and shows chandler just happens to be the same exact dress i got married in before that show even aired..how cool, right?!*
***sidenote: when rachel and pheobe join her in the episode with emily's dress, in trying on wedding gowns to cheer themselves up, ull notice that the dress rachel wears is ACTUALLY the same exact dress she wore in the pilot episode...which is good bc thats the same dress its supposed to be, the one she walked out on barry wearing, and apparently still owns, lol**
Are you sure? Because I watched and thought it was the same dress...just looked different because they have different bodies. And the head piece was different...but are you sure the dress is too?
