I didn't see it, but many models of phone carry on ringing for a second after answered. Especially eclectic antiques. It's got to be intentional, no editor is that bad, and it's too easy to fix.

In the US, or at least in Michigan, we don't get series or episode numbers so could someone please explain what is going on in this episode so I can watch for it. I love friend and want to look for these. Also, what cabinet? I guess I'm a gullible one too!

People!!!!!!!!!
The editor had nothing to do with the phone that kept on ringing!
That was the sound effect coordinators job! How could the editor have anything to do with that? The sound editing and visual editing is different.

In which episode does this slip up occur?

Ron, that was the lamest attempt to falsify a slipup. Phones ringing, doorbells, laughtracks, sfx's, those are all controlled by the coordinator and sound managers. I don't think they actually had the prop hooked up to an actual phone line and called that phone, do you?

I re-watched the whole of series 4, and couldn't find that bit with the phone continuing to ring in any episode. Could you give a name?
