When Doug and Kate are practising the Pamchencko Twist and Kate hits her shoulder and falls on the ice. Her leotard is blue with yellow and pink stripes. It cuts back to Doug and then back to Kate trying to get up. Her leotard is now blue with black and pink stripes instead.
It's been a while so I could be wrong but I think the scene you described is supposed to represent not just one practice but many practices. They intentionally use the different outfits to show the passage of time without having to interrupt the flow of the movie to explain that they practice a lot over the course of many weeks.
I have watched this movie over a hundred times and I'm positive that Moira Kelley is wearing many different leotards in that scene because they want to show that they were practicing that move over the course of many practices.
