what are they supposed to do actually bludgeon the actor? this isn't a flaw it's an example of very good effects... because you can't see it at regular speed.
I must agree with lee. The scene was very gripping by showing everything. If they would have just cut away and not shown the blow, it would have taken away from the emotion of the scene.
I did slo-mo and freeze frame (via DVD) on this scene to see how the special effect was done. And being a special effects junky, I have to say that the jump from the real actor to the dummy at just the right frame time was done so well that it made the entire shot look completely seamless. Even in slo-mo it's still a great edit and is barely noticeable unless you are really looking for it. And they used this type of editing throughout the movie. So where's the slip up?
