lost, and tramping around the bush all day, and camped overnight for a night or two, there is a closeup of her hands and finger nails. They are perfectly clean!
I'm pretty positive it was a tongue. I haven't seen the movie in awhile, but as far as I remember, he doesn't scream "help", he just mumbles in pain. BECAUSE he has no tongue. Don't bash me if I'm wrong, I haven't seen the movie since it came out.
If you people would watch the DVD version you would clearly know that it is his teeth. No fingers, I don't know who started that one. His teeth. Aren't there any real fans out there?
Inside the bundle is Josh's teeth. When she originally found it, she threw it away from the tent, never intending on opening it. The crew had to tell her to open it so she could find the teeth.
You've got to be kidding right? Where do you see a big flat rubbery tongue? It's his back teeth (because they are huge) and a part of his ear. You can see it is his ear on the left part of the screen because of the way the cartilage folds. It's just bloody from the cut or the teeth or both. Gee maybe that's why he didn't answer Heather and Mike when they were calling to him....maybe he couldn't hear...give that one a thought or two.
The big pink thingy may be his tougne, but when Heather pulls back the cloth even more, you can definately make out some molars (i think that's how you spell it).
This is weak.
Her nails are clean, but they cannot possibly be so because you said so. HOW could the directors possibly miss that?
The film was filmed pretty much as you saw it. The directors sent these the woods by themselves with film, food, and camping gear. The only time they came in contact with anyone else, is when the directors were around making scary noises and shaking their tent. If Heather (the actor) managed to keep her nails clean through all that, then it's likely her character in the movie would have been able to do it as well.
the official website said it was his tongue and teeth. that's how you know it's not really josh screaming for help but a trick played by the witch--because without a tongue or teeth he couldn't very well yell "help". the witch used his voice as a trick to lure the other two
I've also seen this movie many times and I have to agree that it looks like Josh's teeth and tongue. As for her nails, I think it's a bit farfetched that they're so clean after being in the woods for so long. I usually have to clean my nails everyday and I don't hang around the woods either.
No,no!It is Joshes hair and teeth.I read that in an interview with the directors.I even know where they got the teeth from:they got it from a dentist in Maryland.
About the nails it's not too hard to keep them clean if you try.
I'm sorry, but her perfect nails are too hard to swallow. Even if your reason for the cleanliness is true, she should still have chipped nails after all that trekking through the woods and constant tent erecting. I have a desk job and STILL get chipped nails and have to clean them with a file every day. A simple swish through a bowl of water (or river in her case) just wouldn't remove the dirt. I think that part is totally unrealistic.
Isn't it possible that she has a nail file with her? When I go camping, I take a nail file. I also take soap along, so I can wash my hands and stuff. It's not like either of these items take up a whole lot of room in a backpack.
Spaceboy- I don't know, maybe I'm the ONLY person in the world that don't own a DVD player, but I am still here... So just b/c i have not seen the DVD version, does NOT mean I aint a fan, Thank you very much!
I can't believe you people are saying "if it's his tongue then he can't scream"!!! IT'S THE WITCH!!! Why do you think you hear it ALL AROUND??? Get it?? Ok then!
Ok first of all, it's Josh's teeth. Second, why would Heather bring a nail file in the woods with her? It's not as if she was expecting to be there a whole week or something, and would have to keep her nails looking good. They didn't plan on being there as long as they were, so the nail thing is definitely a slip-up.
Ok I think it would be pretty ironic if it was the tongue because then it makes it twice as freaky. If he has no tongue, then how can he cry out for help? I think that's freaky.
OK, I think that the clean-nail thing was a TOTAL slip-up, because during about the whole movie, they are all hiking in the woods, and trying to find their way back. Now don't you think she would be too depressed to keep her nails nice, and also, because she thought she was going to be there for only a short time, why would she pack things to keep her nails clean? When would she have time to sit around and keep her nails perfect? Shouldn't she be worrying about more important things, like her friends being killed?
OK I read in an interview in Wicked magazine that it was only teeth in the bundle and they came from a dentist in Maryland. About the nails - no one was coming out to give her a manicure or anything she kept her nails clean on her own so it's not really all that much of a blooper. They were playing themselves so if Heather decides to brings stuff for her nails and clean thems then Heather does so.
I believe if I remember right she finds the bundle of gore after the night of Joshes screaming. I took it he was being tortured to draw them to whatever was doing it. And as I remember his screams become muffled and distorted as he is brutalized and the scene reaches it's climax. I have never seen the DVD so I do not know of the exact significance of that scene just what I took it as. You would scream(At least try to, it's a natural reaction.)teeth or no teeth, tongue or no tongue as someone mutilated you. You can still produce sound without these things. Listen closely to his screams and I think you will hear the torment in Joshes voice, his pain and suffering. A chilling gargled mass of noise. On a lighter note I think it's hilarious they're in the middle of the words screaming his name in the dark as if to say we're over here my dear witch(Or whoever/whatever is the perpetrator), come and get us. Almost as funny as them running from their shaking tent into a even more dangerous place the dark woods, yeah sure you'll be safe there gang. I must say this is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen and beats any suped up horror movie ever made. It was simplistic-ally done but yet painted a million pictures. A true piece of art that stands apart in a horror movie world of plastic and computer generated grafics. Bravo to all involved.
