Sin City - Major Coninuity Error: Leading Character Shouldn't Be in Scene at All...
As far as Nonlinear narrative movies go, care should be taken not let stuff like the following happen. The inconsistency lies in 2 different scences with Marv (Mickey Rourke) and Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba). The problem is that either Marv or Nancy shouldn't be in both scenes, because either Marv has already left or Nancy has already left. Here are the 2 scenes:
1. Marv sits at the bar when Hartigan (Bruce Willis) walks in. Nancy jumps into Hartigan's arms AND THEY LEAVE TOGETHER, and this is important: WHILE MARV IS HAVING A BEER. Now remember they leave to face of with Yellow Bastard (Nick Stahl) in which Hartigan dies and Nancy is left traumatized.
2. Marv shows up at Nancys flat with Wendy (Jaime King) and... HAS A BEER. Later in the movie he refers to this as being his LAST BEER. Then he leaves, goes to the farm to kill Kevin (Elijah Wood) and then Cardinal Roark (Rutger Hauer), after which he is shot, captured, tried and executed.
Now, if the beer at Nancys flat was Marv's last beer, and he leaves to get captured and killed after that, how can he be sitting having a beer at the bar when Nancy leaves with Hartigan to face of with Yellow Bastard? The only possible explanation is that Nancy comes back after Hartigan get's killed to meet Marv at her flat, but she is smiling and doesn't looked traumatized at all...
