In the last scene of Cast Away at the crossroads, the shadows from objects and on the faces of the actors change directions several times. They are long (from objects), or completely shadow faces, so the time of day must either be early morning or late afternoon. Since there are several direction switches during this short scene (from early morning to late afternoon), then apparently several days passed by. This could have easily been avoided by shooting this scene during one more day and only using shoots all from the morning or all from the afternoon.
