j edgar - Set-decorator Paints Bridge that shouldn't exist in the 1920s
First 40 minutes of "J Edgar" starring Leonardo DiCaprio: a downtown Manhattan courtroom scene. There are windows at the front of the courtroom. outside the windows we see a painted backdrop, representing a view of New York Harbor, looking south. towards the rightside, we see the statue of Liberty. beyond the statue of liberty, on the left side we see the distant image of a bridge. The only bridge you would see in the actual vantage point looking south, is the Verazanno bridge connecting Brooklyn to Staten Island. This scene is supposed to take place in the early 1920s, which is forty years before the verazanno bridge was built. In the 1920s, there was no bridge visible in the backround beyond the statue of liberty.
