Please understand that as a life-long gun enthusiast, I am good at catching gun-related bloopers. For me, this would be a major goof because I know these things.
This takes place in the camp scene after Roland and the two others return after finding what was left of Dieter Stark. During one of the breaks, Nick apparently takes the bullets out of the cartridges in Roland’s double rifle. The tyrannosaurs raid the campsite. What follows defies logic. Roland aims his double rifle at the tyrannosaur and presses one trigger and then the other, and gets two clicks. Even though the cartridge cases do not have bullets, the primers should have fired instead of delivering two clicks. This is a technical error by Hollywood people who do not know a thing about how firearms work in real life. The logic error is that no PH (Professional Hunter) would ever go on safari without carrying extra cartridges and having extra cartridges on his person. An experienced PH would have reloaded, neutralized the threat, and then tried to figure out what went wrong with the first two cartridges. The tranquilized T-rex at the end of the Isla Sorna segment could have been accomplished elsewhere by other InGen personnel in a manner that would have made more sense.
