Rose is in the woods at the rotten tree where Thadius placed the cage earlier in the movie, intent on catching a copperhead snake. Visible inside the cage is a copperhead. Rose picks up the cage and walks through the woods and see's Thadius having sex with Red Berry in the car. You can clearly see the cage and the copperhead within it. Moments later, Rose is walking through the house with the cage, as she turns, you can clearly see that the cage is empty and devoid of anything within.

Rose walks up the stairs and into her bedroom. She placed the cage under her bed and her father walks into the bedroom. The camera angle changes and you can see under Rose's bed, into the cage, where a copperhead snake is clearly inhabiting.
