At the begining of the movie, at the celebration of the birth of the Hmong baby, the old man places a hand on the baby's had and pats it a few times. When Walt comes over to the Hmong house for the party, he pats a young girl on the head, and everyone is appalled. The main girl then tells him that it is extremely disrespectful to touch the head of Hmong people.
