During the movie there are a number of times where Forrest is running across the football field and no one can catch him. He is supposed to be so fast, but during one of these scenes you can see the referee easily keeping up with him!
I don't think Forrest is suppsod to be running fast, that was never stated in the movie. He was just supposed to be running from the bullys, but not neccesarily fast!
Actually, the comment that Forrest runs fast is made when he is a kid. He runs past the men at the shop, and one of them says how he runs really fast. Not that he is running from the bullies. That is just how he started to run fast.
in response to the fact that Forrest wasn't supposed to be running fast and that this was never stated... you may wanna watch the movie again ... seeing as how that's why he was playing footbal, cause he could run "like that wieeend"
Actually in the movie when Forest, as a child, is running past the old men sitting on the corner they say "That boy sure can run!" and as the movie leads on when he gets into college to play football the reason he gets in because he can run so quickly. So yes I do believe they mean he can run quickly. As for the Ref.'s there can be more then one. If you watch football at all there is always more then one on the sidelines running. And if it is the same Ref., then oh well? It's a good movie. Get over it.
