The official Hannah is supposed to be a referee(orange stripes on his sleeves indicate this) But in the game at least once he drops the puck for the faceoff. Referees do not drop the puck for faceoffs they are responsible for penalty calls and such. The lineseman(officials without stripes on their arms are in charge of faceoff puck drops)
