Hachiko was a white Akita, the dog they used in the movie was a Shiba Inu....same back ground but totally different breed ! The Inu is 20 lbs. whereas the Akita is can reach 100lbs and Akitas don't even come in the reddish color. Inu's are most of the time !
They could of used the right breed to make it more realistic, in a more modern time !
i should make myself more clear, they used a shiba inu puppy to start off with then once the pup grew up they used an akita, but still they could of used an akita puppy !
