Interview With The Vampire - Louis Phone Home!
In the beginning of the movie Louis is accosted by Lestat and flown up to the rigging of a ship. Lestat drops him in the water and the next morning as Louis walks up the banks of the muddy Missisippi in 1794, in the background are a row of telephone poles with telephone lines!

Actually, those are not telephone poles. I checked it out, and they are ropes for the lamps!

I believe around that time, the telegraph had already been invented. It could have been telegraph wires, not phone lines.

These same "telephone/telegraph wires" are also shown in the long shot of the fire as Louis and Claudia are leaving for the ship.
