At the end of the movie when Spartacus is crucified, look carefully at his feet. The are just dangling there! This poses a major problem to the storyline, because if this was the case, he would have died very quickly.
Research crucifixion, and you will find that there is no way to breathe without your feet being supported. Victims would need to put pressure on their nailed feet (excruciating pain in itself) to get a breath, then drop to relieve pressure. This cycle could go on for days. If the Romans would ever want to kill quickly, they would break the legs, denying the person the ability to breathe.
Since Spartacus was just hanging there, without any foot support, he would eventually have quickly become too weak to pull himself up to breathe. There is no way he would have survived the night, much less be able to talk (breathing) the next morning with his wife.
