When Roscoe is sleeping down by the creek at Ol Sam's place, Ol Sam starts beating Janie. You can see the fight through the shade of the window. There is a lantern in the window. During the fight, the lantern gets knocked over. The next scene shows Roscoe's face, and in the background, you can see the lantern is back in the window.
