After the caretaker reveals that he was a GHOST RIDER right before the scene switches to them riding across the desert, the camera zoom's in on Johnny. It is clear that he is not wearing any gloves as the ghost rider (I clearly saw the bone fingers). The next time you see his hand's, they're gloved.
